Rain is a Natural and Fresh Water
Rain is liquid precipitation on earth, it is the condensation of atmospheric-water vapor into drops heavy enough to fall. It is the primary source of fresh-water for most areas of the world.
One of the sources of natural-water that are recognized as safe to drink is the-rain. The trick is that the same-water must be carefully handled so that it does not become contaminated. If it runs along the ground, it's anybody's guess what sort of microbes and toxic elements it will pick up. But if you put a clean bowl out to collect the falling-water, there's no reason you can't drink the same collection. Richard E. Barrans Jr., Ph.D. Assistant Director
